Wadi Jeddah Company


Overview

Wadi Jeddah Company was established by Royal Decree No. (م/20) dated 15/04/1431 AH as a joint stock company fully owned by King Abdulaziz University. The company aims at effective contribution to the development of knowledge economy. It invests in industry, transfer, localization, and development of technology. It also invests in patents and intellectual properties, industrial models, support economic fields, and knowledge industries. It has its own memorandum of association and it is subject to regulations of joint stock companies. The company was allocated an area of the university lands by virtue of a royal decree in order to be used for achieving objectives of the company.



Sector’s Goals

  • Invest in, localize, and develop technology industry.
  • Prepare university students for work in private sector through training, qualifying, and providing appropriate job opportunities during academic years.
  • Create suitable environment for conduction of economically feasible scientific research to the benefit of knowledge economy.
  • Found and invest in technology incubators.
  • Invest patents, intellectual properties, and industrial models.
  • Invest in support economic fields, and knowledge industries.
  • Attract distinguished competencies of scholars and consultants.
  • Qualify and equip students with knowledge and skills to present innovative ideas and new products to be invested in launching entrepreneurial projects.
  • Provide consultations in educational development, scientific research, and technology industry.
  • Invest in development of land allocated for Wadi Jeddah technology project as well as in the available lands of the university with a view to create an attractive environment for scholars and staff members with their families.
  • Attract local and foreign investments to contribute to achievement of objectives of the company.
  • Cooperate with organizations, companies and institutions active in fields complementary to the field of the company.
